Two boys held over park knifing of lad
TWO teenage boys aged 13 and 14 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a horrific knife attack in a park.
The youngsters are being questioned by police after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed.
A 15-year-old girl also suffered injuries during the assault on Bank Holiday Monday at around 6pm.
Police say the male victim was kicked to the floor after an “altercation between a group of children” before being knifed in the back at Handsworth Park, Birmingham.
He suffered serious internal injuries including a punctured lung.
The 13-year-old suspect was arrested as he attended Birmingham magistrates court in connection with an unrelated fight. The other youth surrendered.
Inspector Greg Evans, of West Midlands Police Force CID, said: “This has left a boy with injuries that have life-long implications.”
