Two for tea, anyone?

-

IT’S marathon MasterChef night as the four remaining celebs take on three tough challenges to try to make it through to the semi-finals.

Only two out of the group – Spencer Matthews, John Partridge, Jean Johansson and Anita Harris – can win a place, but that must be put to one side at first as they are put into teams and made to work together. First up is the new task for this series – the Pairs Challenge. John and Gregg have erected a culinary version of Donald Trump’s wall in the kitchen, and one celeb from each team has to stand on either side while they attempt to cook two plates of identical-looking and tasting food. They have a few minutes to plot how they’ll tackle it, then it’s down to shouting at each other across the wall to make sure they’re both on the same plate. Spencer and Jean seem pretty well in sync for their quail and mushroom dish, while Anita is happy to be bossed about by John as they whip up fish cakes. They stay in those teams for the next “ferocious” challenge (things are never underplayed on MasterChef) as they visit Chessington World of Adventures and its wild animal park to cook lunch for 100 staff. And of course this means a whole lot of prepping, peeling and panicking. Then finally it’s back to MCHQ and back to flying solo as they each have to make their best twocourse meal for the judges – and last year’s finalists.
