BBC1’s Bodyguard started in spectacular fashion with an intense terrorist situation that established David Budd, played by Richard Madden, as a caring hero. But as more is revealed, it’s apparent the bodyguard to home secretary Julia Montague, played by Keeley Hawes, left, is a flawed character. It’s lovely to have the calm and professional Peter Wright back in The Yorkshire Vet on Channel 5. Peter has stuck to his Thirsk practice, treating mostly farm animals, while his partner Julian Norton has branched out to a new surgery.
