Novichok 999 vehicles ‘safe in landfill site’
OFFICIALS have given assurances emergency vehicles used during the Novichok poisonings have been buried “safely” near a village of 13,000 people.
The Russian nerve agent killed Dawn Sturgess, 44, in July and left boyfriend Charlie Rowley, 45, critical.
They were believed to have picked up a vial of the substance used to poison ex-spy Sergei Skripal, 67, and daughter Yulia, 33, at Salisbury, Wilts, in March.
Defra said vehicles had been put in a landfill site at Wingmoor Farm, near Bishop’s Cleeve, Glos.
A spokesman said: “Locations are sealed and highly regulated to ensure waste is disposed of safely.”
