Stop tedious bullying NOW

-

Apparently a Mediterranean diet “can give men better sex in their 70s”. Yikes! Cue scores of women in their 70s binning the olive oil and tomatoes. Maybe not the red wine, though. It’s good for shock. Stacey Solomon is one of the loveliest, most genuine people you could wish to meet. And she can belt out a mean tune too.

Oh, and she’s a warm, funny, intelligent TV presenter to boot. I certainly wouldn’t call her “boring, desperate and cheap”, as NOW magazine claimed – all over its front cover.

I would, however, call their attempt at a headline, all of those things – boring, desperate, cheap, as well as a lazy, bitchy, nasty, totally unnecessary attempt at “journalism”.

More than a third of dementia patients in hospital endure the agony of injury and illness without pain relief because they can’t explain their suffering, new research claims. True. But the real truth is, patients with dementia shouldn’t be in hospital in the first place, and wouldn’t be if we had a fully funded, fit-for-purpose social care system.
