Man arrested in Parliament security alert
A MAN has been arrested after jumping a fence round the Houses of Parliament in the latest Westminster security scare.
The intruder, wearing a camouflage jacket, was last night detained by four police officers just yards from the entrance to the Palace of Westminster.
He was handcuffed and hauled to his feet before being led to a barrier set up by workmen near Big Ben and driven off.
Police later confirmed that a man had been arrested for trespassing.
The alert comes three weeks after a car hit a group of cyclists and crashed into a security barrier outside Parliament.
Six people including hero PC Keith Palmer died in a terror attack last year.
