Tributes for sci-fi baddie Jacqueline

BLAKE’S 7 star Jacqueline Pearce has died at the age of 74 after a short battle with lung cancer.

The actress played villain Supreme Commander Servalan from 1978 to 1981 in the popular BBC science-fiction series.

She also appeared in Dr Who, Danger Man and The Avengers as well as children’s dramas Moondial and Dark Season.

Russell T Davis, who wrote Dark Season, said: “She was glorious, vivid, passionate and the most wonderful company. And a truly fine actor.”

Jacqueline’s film roles included White Mischief and How To Get Ahead In Advertisin­g.

Pal John Ainsworth said: “She was outrageous and straightfo­rward, which did not always go down well.”
