THEY do not look good at all and it is no win in five for Aston Villa after losing 4-1 at Sheffield United. Not good enough. Steve Bruce has to go and they have to look for a manager that has a philosophy of attacking, exciting football with a Plan B and Plan C because with Bruce I don’t see it.

AFTER last week’s Champions League group stage draw I fancy all of our English teams to go through.

Liverpool’s group looks tricky on paper but if you’ve been to a Champions League final, only lost to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid and got the history in the competition they have, you should be confident taking on anyone.

Manchester City should progress without losing a game and I would like to see them experimenting with different players and give some of their youngsters like Phil Foden more game-time on that big stage.

Jose Mourinho knows what it takes in Europe. Manchester United will nick points away and have Old Trafford as a fortress.

As for Spurs, they came out of a tough group last year, should be confident enough to go to PSV and win and be better than Inter Milan, who are not what they were.

IT looks like we are seeing a welcome return to clubs choosing their style based on the players they can get into their club rather than trying to be a Manchester City-lite. That happened when clubs tried to copy Barcelona. Now clubs work to their own defined style and try to get the best out of what they have got. Watford have done it and won all four games, Wolves have done the same and so have Fulham. Crystal Palace are looking at Wilfried Zaha (left) being their star man and trying to use him. City and Liverpool are fantastic pressing teams. Are teams further down trying to copy them? No. Instead we are seeing five or six different styles and that is much better than what we see in La Liga, where everyone wants to be Barca, only with inferior players.
