CATS HAVE CLAWS OUT FOR PAPY

- BY SIMON BIRD

PAPY DJILOBODJI could face legal action from Sunderland as he continues to stay away from the club.

The defender (below) and midfielder Didier Ndong, who cost the Wearsiders £22million, have no future under manager Jack Ross, after failing to turn up to pre-season training.

Their efforts to find a new club in the transfer window drew a blank. New owner Stewart Donald won’t let them play for the club again, or train with the League One side’s first team, some of whom earn in a year as much as they do in a fortnight.

The Black Cats are withholding the pair’s pay, in the region of £100,000 a week, and could seek compensation as their market value drops.
