Airport trays ‘health risks’
PLASTIC security trays harbour the highest levels of viruses at airports.
A study found them on 10% of surfaces, including in play areas.
Experts from the Finnish National Institute for Health and Nottingham University took swabs at Helsinki-Vantaa airport.
Nottingham’s Prof Jonathan Van Tam said steps such as hand washing and coughing into handkerchiefs “can help prevent pandemics and are important in crowded areas”.
