Caught with pants down
For one unfortunate train passenger, rail delays, disrupted journeys and overcrowding were the least of his problems when he chose to travel by track.
In fact, on this occasion, his problems started precisely because he’d found a comfortable spot away from his fellow passengers – on the toilet.
It was this decision which turned an otherwise uneventful journey into one he will never forget.
“I had a friend who was on a train to London and needed the loo,” explains Michelle Rushton, from Liverpool.
“Unfortunately for him, he hadn’t locked the door properly.
“Someone pressed the button to open the door just at the moment the train came to a stop at the platform.
“The train doors opened to a crowd of passengers who were greeted by a lovely view of him sitting on the throne with his pants round his ankles! He was mortified.”
Now that’s got to be an understatement. It’s almost certain the man in question has never used a train toilet since.
But if there’s any silver lining to this cubicle-shaped cloud, it has to be this – thank goodness none of his fellow commuters were quick enough to capture the incident on a camera phone, thus preventing the inevitable scenario of turning his mishap viral.
