Candice’s body-shaming hell Martine’s 8-year illness battle
GREAT British Bake Off winner Candice Brown has hit back at body-shaming trolls who knocked her confidence just two weeks before her wedding day.
Candice, 33, spoke of the abusive comments she received about holiday pictures of her in a bikini.
On ITV’s Lorraine, she said: “I put my wedding dress on and I burst into tears. I was terrified I wasn’t going to fit into it.” Candice, who will wed Liam Macaulay this month, added: “Real life is wobbly bits and stretch marks. I love cake, I love baking, it’s going to happen. “I have an incredible fiance, I have incredible friends and family, but I am also human. I’m annoyed at myself that it got to me. But it did.” MARTINE McCutcheon has revealed she battled serious illness for eight years.
The ex-EastEnders actress said she was struck down when playing the lead in My Fair Lady in the West End in 2001.
Martine, 42, star of Love Actually, blamed her workload for contracting tickborne Lyme disease and chronic fatigue syndrome. She said: “My system was weak, I just hadn’t stopped. When you can’t lift your arms, when you sleep 17 hours straight, don’t know if you’re gonna make it to the shop, you look at life differently.” She also told John Bishop that Hugh Grant was grumpy on the Love Actually set every day until he had his cup of tea.
