Huge hunt a cop triumph

CHARGING the Novichok suspects is a major success after one of Scotland Yard’s biggest and most complex investigat­ions.

Around 250 detectives spent six months studying 11,000 hours of CCTV, using the latest facial recognitio­n technology, to match images from Salisbury with those of the men arriving at Gatwick.

Police worked with specialist­s to compare the Skripal attack with Dawn Sturgess and Charlie Rowley’s poisonings. Other agencies involved included Public Health England and the MoD’s Porton Down lab in Wiltshire.
