Huge hunt a cop triumph
CHARGING the Novichok suspects is a major success after one of Scotland Yard’s biggest and most complex investigations.
Around 250 detectives spent six months studying 11,000 hours of CCTV, using the latest facial recognition technology, to match images from Salisbury with those of the men arriving at Gatwick.
Police worked with specialists to compare the Skripal attack with Dawn Sturgess and Charlie Rowley’s poisonings. Other agencies involved included Public Health England and the MoD’s Porton Down lab in Wiltshire.
