900 dangerous foreign lags a year ‘to stay after Brexit’

THE number of dangerous foreign criminals the UK can kick out of its jails may drop from 1,000 a year to just 60 after Brexit, a report warned.

The EU is refusing to accept Britains plans to replace the European Arrest Warrant with a new agreement, said the Institute for Government.

And from next March it would make it harder to haul suspects back here to face justice. It warned STRIFE Andy Burnham’s warning that a “serious reduction in cooperatio­n would only benefit criminals”. Yesterday ex-Bank of England governor Lord King blasted Theresa May’s Brexit strategy as “incompeten­t”. Talk of stockpilin­g food and medicines left the Government with no credible bargaining position, he said. Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham said “real division on our streets” was a price worth paying to have a second vote and avoid a Brexit no-deal.
