Keshav looks good in a tie

-

SOMERSET crashed to 77 all out as Lancashire escaped Taunton with a tie in a game which had seemed a formality for the hosts.

Jack Leach completed careerbest match figures of 12 for 102 as Lancashire’s second innings closed at 170.

But despite needing just 78 for victory, Somerset folded, losing their last two wickets with one run needed.

Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj did the damage with 7-37 – and match figures of 11-102 – to give both teams 11 points and dent Somerset hopes of a first County Championship.
