Jordan is eyeing trophies

-

JORDAN HENDERSON believes he has gone to the next level as a player and that he can help deliver the trophies for Liverpool.

The Reds skipper signed a new five-year deal this week which keeps him at Anfield until he is 33 – but insisted he feels like a young kid again, after solving niggling injury worries.

And if the England midfielder has one regret, then it is that his time on Merseyside over the past seven years has not produced the success he and the fans crave.

Henderson, who won the League Cup with Liverpool in 2012, said: “I would have liked to have won more. Yet, I’m very proud of how far I’ve come in seven years.

“But I know there’s still a lot more to give. I feel as though I’m getting into my prime now. I’m in a good period in my career with the balance of experience and still having the youth.

“I feel in good shape, but also think I can improve.

“And with Jurgen Klopp there’s no better manager to do that under really.”
