Club class is the key for Alonso
Gomez: Instead of sulking during Champions League final I watched Varane & Ramos to learn how to be a better player
MARCOS ALONSO reckons Luis Enrique has similarities with his club boss Maurizio Sarri.
The Chelsea left-back is excited to be part of Spain’s new era under Enrique.
Former Barcelona coach Enrique has already given Alonso a vote of confidence by picking him ahead of Jordi Alba, a fixture for Spain in recent years.
Alonso forced his way back with an impressive start to the season.
And the transition from club to country has been smooth for Alonso, joined in the squad by three teammates – Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cesar Azpilicueta and Alvaro Morata.
He said: “Things are working well at Chelsea. I’m very happy. With Luis Enrique, I see similar things.
“It is modern football that is played lately. Have the ball, control the game and be well placed when the ball is lost.”
