City winger must sort out his attitude and body language says Kroos I don’t recognise Mesut’s claims of racism says Mertesacker
MANCHESTER CITY star Leroy Sane has been told he must change his attitude to fulfil his huge potential.
And Mesut Ozil has found himself further out in the cold after his Arsenal colleague and former Germany team-mate Per Mertesacker refused to back him over his
racism claims. Sane, 22, voted PFA Young Player of the Year last term, failed to make Germany’s World Cup squad, but he has been recalled for their Nations League opener tonight against France.
Sane has yet to start for City this season and Germany midfielder Toni Kroos said it is down to the winger’s bad attitude.
He said: “Sometimes you feel with Leroy’s body language it’s all the same if we win or lose. He has to improve his body language.”
And Arsenal academy boss Mertesacker distanced himself from Ozil’s racism claims in an angry retirement statement.
He said: “I have never experienced racism or discrimination in the national team. Mesut’s accusation surprised me.”
