Here we are at the start of a quite incredible 12th series. And it’s become such a part of the telly furniture these days that when we watch something extraordinarily brilliant or completely awful, we quite often find ourselves thinking, “I can’t wait to see what the Goggleboxers have to say about this”.

It’s knowing that we’ll see a family all inwardly cringing as they sit and watch the sex scenes in Wanderlust or BBC1, 8.30pm

FOUR more famous faces (bit too generous, but we like alliteration) are battling it out for two semi-final places.

Bodyguard together, or hear them slagging off Simon Cowell’s plastic face on The X Factor.

Sometimes it’s the way we find out about a show we’d never heard of that we know we’ll definitely have to watch on catch up, or it can be the way we realise that something is most definitely worth swerving.

And sometimes just a few clips with tearful praise from Jenny and Lee in Hull, or damning commentary from Tom Malone in Manchester is all you need.
