Egypt’s pyramids are one of the most recognisable sights on the planet, but have you ever wondered what they look like on the inside? If so, then this new series is for you.
Dr Michael Scott has travelled to Cairo to help uncover its secret history. And when he says invisible, he means all the parts of these extraordinary ancient sites that can’t be seen by the naked eye. They’re either inaccessible or hidden deep underground – even the people who live there might have no idea of their existence.
He starts at the Great Pyramid of Giza, the only remaining ancient wonder of the world, and explores hidden tunnels and chambers. Using incredible modern 3D laser scanning technology, his team can show the exact layout inside this remarkable structure.
Across the city, they study two Roman towers, hidden deep under a church, and reconstruct a model of the Fortress of Babylon.
