Bovis homes in on profit
Better-built houses and strong buyer demand have buoyed Bovis Homes towards record profits.
The company, which has faced criticism from its homeowners about leaks and unfinished gardens, said a stronger focus on building standards and skills had improved customer satisfaction and helped first-half profits rise 41% to £60.2million.
The number of houses built strengthened 4% to 1,580, with the average selling price flat at £334,700.
Boss Greg Fitzgerald said customer demand was “robust” over the summer, aided by the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.
“We have made excellent progress,” he said.
