Britain joined Interpol in 1928. 66 YEARS AGO (1952) A coup by the Egyptian Army led by General Muhammad Neguib removed Prime Minister Aly Maher from office and abolished the monarchy under King Farouk and his son Fu’ad II. But two years later Neguib himself was deposed by Colonel Abdel Nasser.
