A RASH MOVE BY SOUTHGATE

- BY JOHN CROSS

GARETH SOUTHGATE is considering starting Marcus Rashford against Spain tonight.

The England boss is also set to go with Joe Gomez, while Luke Shaw could also figure in England’s Wembley homecoming after the World Cup campaign this summer.

Manchester United forward Rashford (above, in training) could come in for Raheem Sterling, who has already pulled out injured, while Southgate is a huge fan of Gomez.

Shaw is favourite to start ahead of Danny Rose at left wing-back and Southgate may consider going back to using Kyle Walker at right wingback in the longer term.

There are likely to be changes for Tuesday’s friendly with Switzerland as Southgate wants to give every member of the squad a chance.

He said: “We want to look at as many players as we can and some need game-time. That was important for us in the summer – that everyone feels involved. This is two really good tests in terms of opposition.”
