I KHAN STILL DO IT SAYS AMIR

-

AMIR KHAN believes tonight’s clash with Samuel Vargas will tell him how much he has got left.

Khan, 31, feels he still has big fights in him and wants Manny Pacquiao or Kell Brook next if he dispatches Vargas (left) at Arena Birmingham.

But he knows there is a question mark over him because he has only fought for 39 seconds since being sparked out by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in May 2016. “This is a fight that will tell me what I have left,” said the former light-welterweight champ.

“This will tell me how far I can go and if I can go to the next level to Manny Pacquiao and Kell Brook. The confidence is there, but it’s just about getting in the routine again.

“I’ve trained harder than ever and I feel better now than when I was 25. I will be able to tell after this fight what I’ve got left in me.” Khan last held a world title in 2012 and says he would have regretted it for the rest of his life if he had quit with the hand injury which sidelined him for two years.

The Bolton fighter added: “If I’d called it a day, then, yeah, I would have thought, ‘I could have come back and won more’. I never want to be a fighter with regrets.

“I know this is the last chapter of my career and beating someone like Pacquiao or Brook would make people forget about my defeats.”
