ROVERS ROCKED BY INJURIES

-

Hull KR 38 Halifax 24 HULL KR’S win was soured by injuries to full-back Adam Quinlan and winger Justin Carney.

Quinlan (right), who had a hand in all five of Rovers’ first-half tries, was forced off after the break with a suspected anterior cruciate ligament injury, which coach Tim Sheens fears will sideline him until well into next season. Carney, who is retiring from pro rugby league at the end of this year, went off in the first half with an ankle problem.

Sheens said: “Justin has picked up the same injury that sidelined him for several weeks previously.

“It’s not quite as bad, but I doubt he will be back and with Adam it’s a suspected ACL.” Rovers were 24-0 ahead at half-time after Craig Hall got four tries on his 250th career appearance and James Greenwood also scored.

Halifax hit back with four second-half scores through James Saltonstall (two), Dan Fleming and Will Sharp. But Rovers got further tries from Chris Atkin and Shaun Lunt.
