Carillion chiefs ‘must face crime probe’
FATCATS behind Carillion’s collapse should face an immediate criminal probe, a union boss has urged.
Unite’s Gail Cartmail said the Insolvency Service was only now investigating if laws were broken by the services and construction giant – nine months after it went bust.
She told the TUC Congress: “This is simply too little too late. There must be a criminal investigation… If no laws were broken, then we need better, stronger laws.”
Almost 3,000 jobs were lost in the firm’s demise.
