New Poldark fills 10yr gap in book saga
POLDARK’S fifth and final series with Aidan Turner will break away from the books of the Cornish saga.
Series four’s dramatic finish was at the end of the seventh book in Winston Graham’s series, with the eighth picking up after a 10-year historical gap.
But show writer Debbie Horsfield will create her fifth series by filling in the blanks using material from the last five of the 12 books and historical events.
Graham’s son Andrew praised Horsfield’s adaptations and said: “We know we are in safe hands.”
And though the series is Turner and Demelza actress Eleanor Tomlinson’s last, producer Karen Thrussell hinted at more, saying: “Who knows what the future may bring?”
