ZAK IN TRAINING AFTER DRUGS BAN
ZAK HARDAKER is back in rugby league after returning to training with new club Wigan.
The former England full-back (right) is banned until November 7 after receiving a 14-month suspension for testing positive for cocaine.
But UK Anti-Doping rules allow him to return to training two months before that expires, and Hardaker linked up with Shaun Wane’s squad for the first time yesterday. The 26-year-old missed last year’s Grand Final with Castleford and was also forced to miss the World Cup, but received a reduced ban after his legal team put forward “a number of exceptional circumstances”. Warriors forward Macauley Davies, 22, has been forced to quit due to a condition that causes the lower part of his brain to push into his spinal canal. He said: “My health and life are more important than continuing to play.”
