FOR Denmark to go into an international fixture with butchers, bakers and candlestickmakers in their side rather than professional footballers was absolutely ridiculous. UEFA need to set out a standard payment structure which all their teams adhere to, with teams who are ranked in FIFA’s top 10 paying £5,000 a man, teams in the top 40 paying £2,500 a man and in the bottom 10 paying £1,000 a man so silly disputes don’t ruin matches.
