Naismith’s head start

-

STEVEN NAISMITH was the hero as Scotland got their Nations League campaign off to a winning start.

After a first half when Alex McLeish’s side dominated but lacked a cutting edge, Naismith helped break the Hampden Park deadlock two minutes after the break.

The Hearts striker got his head to Andy Robertson’s cross and the ball cannoned off Berat Djimsiti and into the net.

The former Everton man then doubled Scotland’s advantage 20 minutes later.

Albanian keeper Thomas Strakosha was caught in no man’s land when he came for a corner, and Naismith looped a header home.
