School plans a garden for tragic Lucy
A MEMORIAL garden for murdered 13-year-old Lucy McHugh will be created at her school.
Lucy’s mother Stacey White, 30, hopes it will be a place for grieving friends “to work through their pain and celebrate her life”.
She is working with head Jason Ashley and Rev Sean Blackman, who led the funeral service, on the plans in the grounds of Redbridge Community School in Southampton.
Mr Ashley said: “There will always be a place for her here. We don’t want her to be forgotten. The garden will be a place for students to reflect.”
Lucy’s body was found in woodland at Southampton Sports Centre on July 26, a day after she was reported missing. Police continue to hunt her killer.
