Lions kids Mount big comeback

ENGLAND survived a scare as they had to come from behind in their European Championship qualifier.
The Young Lions, who top Group Four, fell behind to Raivis Jurkovskis’s opener. But goals from on-loan Chelsea youngsters Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount earned victory over Latvia.
It was an impressive debut for Mount, who enhanced his growing reputation with a man-ofthe-match display.
Boss Aidy Boothroyd will hope his side can book their place in Italy for next summer’s tournament with their final qualifiers against Andorra and Scotland next month.
They made a poor start here, falling behind in the 28th minute when Jurkovskis struck.
Abraham levelled before the break. The forward, on loan at Aston Villa, headed home Mount’s fizzed cross at the near post.
England grabbed their winner with 17 minutes to go. Neat play on the edge of the area saw the ball end up with Dominic Solanke and he fed Mount – on loan at Derby – to fire home a composed finish.
