Wetherspoon to get shot of Jagermeister
BREXITEER Tim Martin JD Wetherspoon is to stop selling Jagermeister, replacing the German shot with an English equivalent called Strika on orders of the chain’s Brexiteer boss.
The boozers will also no longer stock French brandies Courvoisier VS and Hennessy Fine de Cognac from September 26.
It is part of a drive by pub chain boss Tim Martin to replace EU-made drinks.
He has already replaced champagne with UK and Australian sparkling wines.
Mr Martin said; “This significant move highlights our commitment to offering an excellent range of UK and world products.”
He claimed there would be no “cliff edge” involved in a no-deal Brexit, only “sunlit uplands” beyond EU quotas and tariffs.
