Alice murder sparks bid to foil stalkers

- BY JEREMY ARMSTRONG

KILLED Victim Alice was 24 POLICE are being trained to recognise the dangers of stalking following the murder of Alice Ruggles.

She was killed by her ex, Harry Dhillon, 26, after he stalked her for months.

Alice, 24, had reported him to police days before her murder in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, in 2016.

The police watchdog found two officers had a case to answer for misconduct. Both have been dealt with by managers.

Her family have helped Northumbria police on a training video. It has been shared with other forces.

Alice’s parents, Sue Hills and Clive Ruggles, said: “Police response to stalking has been inadequate [across] the country. Alice’s experience is not unique.”

Soldier Dhillon was jailed for life for murder. SPRINT king Usain Bolt floated on air many times in his athletics career but he takes it to a higher level here.

The eight-time Olympic champion, 32, joined French astronaut Jean- Francois Clervoy, 59, in zero-gravity conditions in a modified plane.

Retired Jamaican star Usain raced Jean-Francois on the flight above France and, unsurprisingly, won.
