Pals trap man running amok with cleaver

ARREST Tasered suspect THREE cyclists chased down a machete-wielding man after overtaking police pursuing on foot.

Pals Tony Pawson, Corey Banks and Paul Garner sped into action when the knifeman fled a bank after allegedly trying to start a fire on Tuesday afternoon.

Tony, 33, said: “There were loads of screams and police. Then a guy with a canister of petrol and a meat cleaver starts swinging at the coppers.”

Mr Pawson said the man, aged 24, then ran down the road “trying to terrorise people”.

The trio cornered him at Hull railway station and he was tasered then arrested by pursuing police.

One person said of the three heroes on Facebook: “You should all be awarded a medal for bravery.”
