Fun amid the fear

BURSTING on to our screens with a highly tense opening scene, this awardwinning drama gets straight into its stride for series three.

“There’s a storm in a far-right teacup brewing here,” says Detective Inspector Viv Deering (the inimitable Joanna Scanlan), as the team approaches an angry mob outside a mayoral election.

Then she adds: “There’s supposed to be a full moon tonight. And I’ve got my knickers on back to front. They’re usually both bad omens.” The way this drama flips from comedy to thriller and back again is what makes this crime drama unique.

You could be chuckling one minute and crying the next.

This gripping opener will pull on every emotion as the Friday Street team faces off against the far right when an assassin arrives on the scene.

Scanlan is aided by a formidable supporting cast including Elaine Cassidy, Alexandra Roach, Will Mellor and Paul Ritter. Expect chaos and heartache.
