Boyfriend’s tears for victim terrorist knocked into river
A TOURIST wept as he told an inquest how his girlfriend was knocked into the Thames in the Westminster attack.
Romanians Andrei Burnaz and Andreea Cristea were on Westminster Bridge when terrorist Khalid Masood’s car ran over his foot and sent her “somersaulting” into the river.
At the hearing into five people who died in last year’s atrocity, Andrei said: “I found her phone and glasses covered in blood.” He cried as CCTV was played at the Old Bailey of their final moments together. Witness Michael Brown saw Andreea fly “10ft in the air and into the Thames”. As she floated face down a tourist boat’s skipper thought Ms Cristea’s body was “garbage”. A fire crew retrieved her but she died two weeks after the attack. The inquest continues.
