Cumani in praise of God

-

GOD GIVEN (above) will sign off her career with a return to the top flight after giving Luca Cumani a sixth victory in the Group 2 DFS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster.

After watching the 5-1 shot and Jamie Spencer wear down Horseplay to lift the fillies’ St Leger by a neck, Cumani nominated the Group 1 QIPCO British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot on 20 October as God Given’s next target.

“Her last race will be at Ascot and then she’ll probably go to stud and make beautiful babies,” said Cumani.

FLEETING gave Aidan O’Brien a first victory in the William Hill May Hill Stakes after finishing fast and late under the trainer’s son Donnacha.

“Mentally she need to become more relaxed, but she’s talented when she gets it together,” said O’Brien jnr.

Fleeting is now set for Newmarket’s Fillies’ Mile or the Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp.
