WARNOCK AMPED UP FOR BLUES
CARDIFF might not get any points at Stamford Bridge today, but Neil Warnock wants to leave with something even better from Chelsea.
The City boss is hoping to convince his opposite number Maurizio Sarri to let him take Ethan Ampadu – who last week made his first competitive starts for Wales – on loan in January.
Ampadu (below), 18 yesterday, is one of the hottest young talents in British football and Warnock believes City can make him even better.
“I think I could help him, and the Premier League would certainly help him,” said Warnock. “It would open his eyes.”
“He doesn’t look out of place at this level and I think he should go on loan. We’d definitely have him.
“I thought he was outstanding in that first game for Wales, but a little overpowered in the second one. What I like about him is he’s so confident. He’s not dissimilar to Ray Wilkins. Ethan keeps everything moving, a bit like Joe Allen.”
