EDDIE: WE’LL PROVE WHO DARES WINS

- BY ALEX CROOK

EDDIE HOWE has called in the SAS to help Bournemouth gun down Jamie Vardy. The Cherries boss took his players orienteering with special forces soldiers during the international break. And Howe hopes the intense training will see his troops plot a course to victory at home to Leicester and Vardy (above) today. He said: “We like to try to do things that stretch the players and give them new life skills. “We made use of the SAS and did something different. “We took the players out into the forest, had a lot of laughs and new relationship building. “It was challenging, map reading and orienteering is not something I have done before. We learned a lot. “The staff joined in and we lost. The players enjoyed seeing us suffer for a bit and we do not like losing, so we did not enjoy that aspect of it. “We were let down by one or two personnel. My assistant, Jason Tindall was excellent – he led the team to last place!” Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic was part of the winning team ahead of his showdown with striker Vardy, who returns for the Foxes after a three-match suspension. Howe added: “He is a big player for Leicester, no doubt about it. “He is always on the shoulder, a very quick player. We know he is a talent.”
