MANCHESTER UNITED fans who had paid £150 to watch their team in European Cup Winners’ Cup action were marched out as trouble flared with French riot police. The ugly scenes started before the game at St Etienne, a first round, first-leg tie which ended 1-1. It all began after United followers – about 1,000 – were taken into the home ‘kop’ end. Fifty fans were hurt.
