‘North Korea tried to hack Poldark firm’
HACKERS working for North Korea tried to sabotage the makers of BBC1’s Poldark, the FBI claims.
Production company Mammoth Screen was allegedly targeted in 2014 after revealing plans for thriller Opposite Number, which would “blow the lid off ” the rogue state.
Court papers in the US claimed: “Although evidence shows an intrusion occurred, it was detected and remediated.”
The US Department of Justice has charged alleged hacker Park Jin-hyok in his absence with “multiple destructive cyber attacks around the world”.
Mammoth Screen, which has since shelved Opposite Number due to a lack of third-party funding, has made no comment.
