Hopkins debt battle after £107k law bill
RIGHT-WING commentator Katie Hopkins is on the verge of bankruptcy after racking up a £107,000 legal bill in a libel battle defeat.
She has sought an Individual Voluntary Arrangement to pay creditors, seen as the last move to avoid being declared bankrupt.
Apprentice star Hopkins, 43, sold her Exeter home for £950,000 in February.
Her 18-month legal fight came after tweeting equality campaigner Jack Monroe: “Scrawled on any memorials recently?”
She had confused Jack with another activist and refused to apologise.
Jack tweeted: “For the want of an apology, a house, a job and now financial solvency were lost. It’s all very sad.”
Hopkins did not respond to a request for comment.
