...about periods and pregnancy
I’ve heard so many myths about periods and pregnancy and it’s hard to keep up with them all. Here’s a selection, and all of them are false.
1 You shouldn’t go swimming while you’re on your period because you’ll make the water dirty.
2 You should avoid outdoor activities such as going to the beach or hiking while on your period because the blood attracts animals that will try to eat you.
3 If a woman who’s on her period has a hand in making mayonnaise, jelly, jam, or butter, the resulting product will be ruined.
4 Any dental fillings received by a woman while on her period will fall out.
5 If an expectant mother experiences excessive heartburn during her pregnancy, the baby will be born with lots of hair.
6 A pregnant woman who goes outside during a lunar eclipse will deliver a child with a cleft lip/palate.
