SHOCKED TO SEE DAD ON DATING APP

I’m a 21-year-old girl and I recently came across my dad’s profile on a dating app that I (and some of my friends) use.

I was so shocked and don’t really know what I should do about it. My friends are bound to see it, too, so I feel I need to bring it up with him.

Have you got any ideas – it seems so out of character. It’s like I don’t know him any more.

Coleen says You haven’t said whether he’s still with your mum or not, but if he’s single then he can join whatever dating site he wants, even if you do find it a bit cringe!

However, if he’s still with your mum, then I think you absolutely have to tell him that you know and see what he has to say, otherwise you’ll feel burdened by it and feel guilty about knowing this information when your mum doesn’t. And it will also damage your relationship with him.

If he’s cheating on your mum or that’s his intention, then he needs to confront what he’s doing and address it.

If he’s a free agent, you can still tell him you’ve seen him on there, but you can’t demand he comes off it. It’s hard to meet people when you’re older, especially if you’ve been out of the dating game for a while, so if that’s the case, go gently on him and just have a laugh about it.
