IT says everything about Pep Guardiola’s quest for perfection that he was seething despite this comfortable win.

LEROY SANE will prove his value to Manchester City this season, according to team-mate Bernardo Silva.

Sane, who became a father after his partner gave birth to their daughter last week, responded by scoring the opener against Fulham (left). After playing a starring role in City’s title win last season, Sane – left out of Germany’s World Cup squad – also found himself out of favour at his club.

But the winger, 22, showed why he remains such a key player, with Silva insisting Sane will prove himself again this season. “Everyone knows how important he is for us,” said Silva. “He was one of the best players last season.

“I hope this season – everyone hopes – he can do the same. He’s doing well. He helped us and he is a fantastic player.”
