Trismus is lockjaw and is most wellknown for being the effect of a rabies infection. You’re unable to open your mouth completely. Trismus can be also caused by damage to the muscles or nerves supplying the jaw and used in chewing. The main treatment for trismus is jaw exercises to gently help improve mouth opening.
