How a dressing-room bust-up ended a crisis for West Ham.. and Pellegrini
MARK NOBLE has revealed how a good old-fashioned dressing-room barney ended talk of a West Ham crisis.
The Hammers produced an impressive attacking display to put Everton to the sword at Goodison and silence suggestions boss Manuel Pellegrini was close
to being axed. Skipper Noble (right) explained how strong words from him and Marko Arnautovic after defeat by Wolves inspired yesterday’s win.
He said: “We spoke openly after the Wolves game with each other, home truths. Me and Marko were in the thick of it in the changing room. Sometimes that’s what you need.
“These three points were absolutely massive for us.”
Andriy Yarmolenko scored twice and Arnautovic was also on target for the Hammers to ease the pressure on Pellegrini, who had lost his opening four league games in charge.
There were suggestions Lucas Perez had refused to come on as sub for Arnautovic, but Pellegrini said: “I wanted to put Lucas on, but he wasn’t ready and Michail Antonio was, so I put him in instead.”
