Romance began with laughter and dreams

-

PARTY TIME Gary crashed Louise’s 13th birthday bash GARY and I met at Hawarden High School. We were both in the third year. But to be perfectly honest, although most of the girls fancied him because he was a goodlooking lad, I didn’t!

He turned up at my 13th birthday party and I wondered what he was doing there because he hadn’t been invited. It was a house party for my friends.

It was supposed to be fancy dress, not that the boys bothered.

Obviously Gary thought he could come along with the lads who had received invites. During the party was the first time I had really spoken to him and I was attracted to his humour. He made me laugh. Even at that age he was talking about what he wanted to do in the future – that he didn’t want to bring children up in certain areas.

He would love to have a house where he could fish, with a river nearby, things like that.

Where we ended up living in our house in Chester, it did have a lake at the back where he could fish.

He already had his dream set, even at that young age.
