Bradley: I need my own Tardis to cope with twin TV roles

-

BRADLEY Walsh finds it tricky juggling his role on Doctor Who with hosting The Chase – and it would be easier if he could time-travel for real.

Having his own Tardis “would be really cool” because “I’m constantly spinning plates between the two”.

And he’s also in a spin about what happens to his character Graham in the new series: “I don’t quite know, whether I get sucked into a black hole or something for a whole episode. I won’t know until it comes out.”

The 58-year-old said the Chasers in his ITV show would make ideal Doctor Who monsters: “Yeah – all of them, they’d be great. I could see The Beast or Ann Hegerty playing a villain.”

TRAILBLAZER

And he also believes Jodie’s casting will have a big impact on the future of TV: “She’s brilliant, a trailblazer for a lot of other shows. I can see more female leads being swapped in the same way. It’s going to make her a massive star.” When he was offered his role he had no idea what the show was. All he knew was the shoot lasted nine months and it was in Wales. “They wanted gravitas and I said fine – I didn’t want to be a clown. I’ve done that for so many years.” He said of how he played Graham: “I’m just a normal bloke. All you’ll ever see is me going ‘How does that work?’ It’s perfect, I actually have no idea what is going on.”
